Floral Workshop – Wreath Making and Wiring Techniques with Jenny Mugford
Autumn Wreath Making and Wiring Techniques Workshop We welcome you to this workshop to find space and inspiration to create your own meaningful expressions of the nature around us. In the first morning session, we shall explore wiring techniques, buttonhole design and construction. This shall be followed by a planning and design session, where you can start to practice traditional wreath making techniques. The afternoon shall be dedicated to creating an autumnal wreath from scratch, celebrating the recent change in season. A tasty lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be provided by The Isthmus. “An introduction to relief printmaking.” Explore the process of lino cutting to produce prints on to paper and fabric. Inspired by natural forms and patterns we shall be hand burnishing prints, a method which can easily be done at home . For kids (accompanied by an adult) Drop-in seasonal craft-making activities. £8/kid. From Saturday 4th November – 10 am -12 noon Come and enjoy the Isthmus Arts Studio with your kids. You’ll find a range of materials and ideas to have fun and make beautiful creations to take home or as gifts. Every month there will be a range of crafts ideas to make using objects and bits from the environment around us, we’ll source some and you can bring your own. For example, in November the little artisans will be able to make the Autumn Tree Craft to celebrate the richness of colours, shapes and textures autumn gifts us with. It doesn’t matter your age, you will find materials to use as you best prefer. If you need some help and instructions we’ll be here for you.
